I do like the antique/old polaroid effects you can get from Apps, like this quick snap taken on my Iphone with Instagram or Hipstamatic, I forget which.
The trouble is it's so easy and almost a substitute for the real thing - proper photographs taken with a proper camera, film developed and printed in a darkroom, hung up to dry, examined, reprinted. Remember all that - such fun.
Now everyone is a photographer, except they're not really. The world is overwhelmed, flooded, saturated, with all our instant images, but fortunately (you might think) they won't last. There will be no cardboard boxes full of old photos, family albums, no documents, letters, postcards, receipts, because our lives are mostly recorded digitally, not on paper.
